Duties
You will carry out your duties in accordance with the Education (School Trustee Elections) Regulations 2000. These prescribe that:
5 Returning officers
(4) Every returning officer must conduct the election—
(a) in accordance with these regulations; and
(b) in accordance with the relevant election timetable; and
(c) otherwise as he or she thinks fit.
The regulations and guidance, including the election timetable, are contained within the Returning Officers’ Handbook 2010. This is available at the school office or on the Trustee Election website

Advice to NZSTA
For the purpose of support during this process you should advise NZSTA that you have been appointed. This will enable you to be provided with information relevant to the election process.
Fee
The board has established the following fee for the work to be undertaken.
The fee will be calculated from the base amount and per pupil amounts below. The fee will be 50% of the base amount plus 25% of the per pupil amount and will be paid in full regardless of whether or not there is a voting election [or specify other agreed fee].
Current funding figures:
$ 630.49 – base grant
$ 7.21 – per pupil funding for all schools except intermediates
$ 10.81 – per pupil funding for intermediates only
Rates are GST inclusive.
