Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Is this electronic voting?
No, it’s not. Votext is a system that automatically generates voting papers, these will then be sent out to voters using New Zealand Post. The votes will then be counted by one of two vote counting outfits and you will be informed of the results. Scrutineers can oversee this process.
Will I still be involved?
Yes! You will be uploading and proofing your own election documents online through Votext – this is the job of the returning officer. You will also be receiving all the nomination and voting forms, which then will need to be uploaded to Votext. All this will be covered in the webinar.
